Northern Tails Grooming LLC is a new Fairbanks business created by Nick and Jana, bringing together expert dog grooming and professional pet photography under one welcoming roof.

Nick has over three years of dedicated grooming experience and a genuine love for working with animals. One thing he’s especially proud of — and what he believes truly sets Northern Tails apart — is that he’s the only groomer in the shop. That means every dog gets his full attention from start to finish. Without the noise and chaos of a traditional grooming salon, the space stays calm, quiet, and relaxed.

After only a short time being open, we quickly noticed something special: the dogs actually get excited to come in. The atmosphere feels more like inviting them into our home than bringing them to an appointment. With fewer distractions and no rushed assembly-line environment, Nick can take his time, be thorough, and focus on quality over quantity — giving each pet the gentle, patient care they deserve.

Jana brings more than 15 years of experience running a successful portrait photography studio and is now pursuing a longtime dream of turning her artistic eye toward pets. She loves capturing the unique personalities of animals of all kinds, offering families a chance to remember their pets in a beautiful, heartfelt way.

Together, Nick and Jana built Northern Tails Grooming to feel personal, genuine, and community-centered — a place where pets are treated like family and where Fairbanks families can count on trustworthy care from people who truly love what they do.
